About the Author: Marilyn Ferguson was an American Author, best known for her forward thinking and the paradigm shift she foresaw in the years beyond her death in 2008. One of her classic quotes which represents her philosophy:
“The greatest revolution in our generation is that of human beings, who by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives.” One of Marilyn’s many quotes which serves as an example of her progressive thinking in the late seventies.
Synopsis of the book: While conducting research for a book on the brain and consciousness in the late ’70s, Marilyn discovered that many people were envisioning a future that was very different from the world they grew up in. This led to a (confidential) survey where nearly 300 people from all walks of life responded. She was struck by the number of people who made reference to the same authors (philosophers, scientists, and thinkers) that at the time were considered esoteric in their approach to the human condition. Today, many of those ideas are considered the “norm” and the future that Marilyn and her survey responders described is in many ways a reality.
