Re-connect with Foundation Members and the

Healing Power of Nature

In nature we never see anything isolated, but everything in connection with something else.

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749-1832) German Writer

September 29-30, 2021, near Boise, Idaho Foundation members and guests will come together for the first Member-Partner Meeting since 2019. We will reconnect with old friends and welcome new ones. The first day and a half of the event will feature current and timely presentations by survivors, responders, and subject matter experts. The second day, we will enjoy the afternoon at Kerry Hill Winery in Wilder, Idaho, owned by family survivor Mindy Mayer (For more info about Kerry Hill Winery, you can watch this short clip from My Idaho, an Idaho news segment from May, 2021).

Following the tragic loss of her husband, son, and his family in a plane crash while on a cruise line excursion (read her Wednesday Wisdom story here), Mindy sought many types of psychological and emotional support. Her search for healing led to helping other families who have suffered similar losses. A few years into her healing Mindy acquired a Border Collie, dogs known as working or herding dogs. Today, Mindy owns Kerry Hill Winery, named after the sheep that she raises on her farm in Wilder, ID.

The afternoon of September 30 will feature a demonstration of sheep herding and a chance to tour the estate vineyard in the Snake River Valley, followed by a wine tasting, live local music, and fundraising activities for the new FAERF Institute.

Connection and connectedness are other words for community and communion.

Parker J. Palmer (1939-), American Author and Educator

If there is one thing that our experience of the pandemic has shown, it is our ability to connect and stay in touch over technology. We recognize that many borders are not yet open, and in the US, many of our members are challenged with budget issues—making it difficult to attend the meeting. Therefore, the entire program will be live-streamed for those who cannot attend in person.

For members who wish to share the program with a larger audience within their company we are offering a corporate ticket to participate in the live-streaming or to view the recorded event afterward. Foundation staff will work with any interested member to make this available.

Join us in September for reconnection with like-minded teammates, survivors, and nature! See you there!
